Where to Play Pickleball in Bryan, Texas
Whether it's your first time playing pickleball or you're a seasoned champ, there are plenty of places to enjoy this up-and-coming sport.
With 26 courts open to the public, the City of Bryan leads the way in accommodating the tremendous growth of pickleball in the Brazos Valley. Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, resulting in a game that's fun for all ages and skill levels.
Read on to find a few of the best places in town to play pickleball, according to Joe Hegwood, President of the Brazos Valley Pickleball Association.
The Brazos Valley Pickleball Association (BVPA) is a group of local pickleball enthusiasts with the mission “to provide fun, fellowship and fitness through the promotion and growth of pickleball in the Brazos Valley Community”. They reserve several times weekly for dedicated club play, and visitors are always welcome to join.

Austin's Colony Park
This local park features four lighted outdoor pickleball courts. These courts are dedicated for pickleball, and open to the public from 6:00AM until 10:00 PM. Restrooms and water are close by, and there are no fees to hop on the court and strike up a game. There's also a 1.5 mile walking trail at the park, perfect for a quick warm up or cool down.

Bryan Regional Athletic Complex
There are three lighted outdoor courts open to the public at Bryan Regional Athletic Complex. Like Austin's Colony Park, these courts are dedicated for pickleball and have restrooms and water close by. There's no fee to play a game, and the courts are open from 6:00AM - 10:00PM.

Neal Recreation Center
Neal Recreation Center has three lighted, climate-controlled indoor courts. These courts are great all year-round, no matter the weather. They're open on Monday and Wednesday from 6:00PM - 9:00PM, and only cost $5 for a day pass to play. Best of all, these indoor courts are just a few blocks away from Historic Downtown Bryan, so there are plenty of restaurants where you can enjoy dinner after you play.

Bonus Spot: Legends Event Center
Additional indoor courts can be found at Bryan's newest sports complex, Legends Event Center. These are available during Open Gym hours at Legends Event Center, found on their website. With a $5 Day Pass at Legends Event Center, you can access the pickleball courts, as well as basketball and volleyball courts.
